The baroque church was constructed on the place of a Romanesque parish church in the years 1703-1756 by the builder K. I. Dientzenhofer. Nicholas was the patron of sailors and merchants. Its rich sculptural decoration is form the Antonín Braun's workshop, and the interior frescos did Kosma Damian Asam paint. Originally the church belonged to the Benediktine order, nowadays it is used as the main church of the Czechoslovak Hussite Church. The bell tower is open and offers very nice view of the Prague Castle.
